Hi there Grade 7/8 immersion families:

​Project-based learning has been proven to be effective in developing students' abilities in teamwork, research, and inquiry-based knowledge.   A great site to learn more:  http://www.bie.org/about/why_pbl  

Science Project #1 is just beginning.  Students will work collaboratively with others toplan and safely construct  an optical device using mirrors (209-6, 211-1). 

Health Project #1: Students are working with a partner to research and understand what an addiction is and how it can make a person keep doing something that is unhealthy or destructive (C1).

Homework items: Students may bring project-related materials to school anytime (E.g. poster board, scissors, markers, tape, and other materials related to project needs as group discussions unfold).
